2003 Ford Focus OBDll scan tool wont connect

2003 Ford Focus ZTW wagon 3.2L 84000 miles. I have a BlueDriver OBDll Scan tool that will not connect to this car. I have checked the fuse and the 12v outlet both are ok. The BlueDriver will connect to my other other car just fine, so no problem with the scan tool. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Do you have power at pin #16 of the DLC?

Then your scan tool isn't capable of reading the communication protocol that car uses or there is a problem with the CAN system of the car.
Is the scan tool capable of reading any other modules in the car?

Not sure I know what you mean by "Is the scan tool capable of reading any other modules in the car?". There is only one connector and it wont connect, I can't read anything at all. I will contact BlueDriver support and see if they can enlighten me. i will post back if I get an answer. Thanks!

There are numerous modules that are accessed through the same connector. They are all connected on the same CAN network. Different vehicles use different communication protocols and some code readers aren't equipped for all protocols.
Possible modules are
ABS
Body Control
Lighting
Dash Cluster
Audio systems
HVAC systems
Not all vehicles have all these modules but many do and many have considerably more of them. If you can access other modules, that would indicate the problem is not with the scan tool although if what you have is simply a generic code reader, it won't have any of these capabilities.

Okay, I gotcha. No, It's not communicating with any of modules at all. I will post if I find out anything new on this... for posterity. No pun intended.
