2003 Chevy Malibu - Changing Fuel Pump Sign In

Hi, I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu 3.2L 150k and I need to change the fuel pump.
First thing is I need to drain the fuel tank, and I have been told that siphoning is not possible due to there being a siphon block. I was wondering what the best way would be to do this.
I am hoping I could get instructions/diagrams outlining the steps involved with removing the fuel and changing the pump with connections and everything.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is no magic answer for draining the fuel. We just kinds pray it isn't full. About the only way to do it is as you are removing the tank and you have removed the filler hose, you can usually put a siphon hose in there. If it's too full, it will just pour out when you remove the filler hose.

Here are the instructions

You beat me to it again Hammer time; but I'll post this anyway. LOL

Sorry my friend; not even the repair manuals give all that detailed of a procedure for removing the fuel tank.
It’s kind of a common sense type of job; all they (the manual) say is disconnect lines, the straps and more or less hang on. As for draining the tank, we usually don’t; but we’re also working on hoists and have the proper holding device, not to get showered in gasoline.
So take a long very studious look at this before you attempt it; it’s not brain surgery but you could get yourself into trouble, if you don’t go about it properly.
