2002 ford taurus something leaking under the car Sign In

so last year replace the oil pan gasket and 1 of the 16 bolts stripped off during the replacement. but the whole year been fine no leaking at all. but then when i turned on the heat. the last 2 weeks the smell in the vents are back and its leaking something under the car now. trying to figure out what to do now or if that is the issue. also the power steering cap had power steering fluid on top of the cap as well

Obviously, you are going to have to determine the source of the leak. If it is the pan again, you will have to remove the pan and repair the stripped bolt using a heli-coil repair kit and put a new gasket. If it's a steel pan, make sure it isn't bent from over tightening.

On some of the older Fords with the C2 pump will push fluid out the top of the cap if you turn the wheels with the engine not running.

cost to them to check for a leak and then for them to replace an oil pan gasket. cause i heard it runs 500 because of the labor for the job since the oil pan gasket is hard to get to

$500 isn't all that much. Don't ask us what it would cost. We don't even know what engine it has.
