2002 chevy trailblazer won't drive past 10-15 mph Sign In

Hello I have a 2002 chevy trailblazer that I recently purchased. about 3 weeks after purchasing my car has now had the service 4wd light up and the 4wd switch on my dash no longer works and is what I believe to be in only 2wd. Today I got in my truck and it started up fine however when I put in drive it would not go past 10-15 mph and feels sluggish like it doesn't want to really go, there is no grinding, winding, or really any weird noises. There was no shifting problems or any sign that something was going, it was all of a sudden today. if anyone has any ideas or has ran across same problem please feel free to leave a thought or comment about this thanks.... I really could use some advice

Is the reduced engine power or check engine light on?

No that light is not on just the service 4wd light and loss of any kind of power the the 4wd switch on the dash, I have read somewhat similar problems but none seem to be the same produced problem exactly to mine. It throws me off because there's no grinding or any strange noise, there was no slipping or hard shifting problems either so just strange and is making me shy away from thinking its tranny or the transfer case problems. It makes me believe such a sudden problem to in not going over 10-15 mph to be a sensor, fan clutch, or something that just went out on me but that's just of of what I read up about not any more knowledgeable past that maybe you have a thought?...

Your fan is electric and defaults to "off" if disabled. The check engine light should illuminate for any serious engine issues. I suspect your trans may be defaulting to taking off in 2nd gear.

If my tranny is wouldn't there be more of slipping or something going on before hand or during, it just feels sluggish and was not something that was problematic for a while was more just a sudden problem on me...? It's just is so weird because my switch no longer works and made me think maybe there's a possibility it may have something to Do With that no longer working that something else went. When I read on trannys it usually says one lost reverse my reverse works also feels very sluggish along with drive but no grinding or hard shifting.

You need to get it into a shop that has a high end scanner that can do a code sweep of all the modules in that vehicle. Might give you some direction.
