2002
Saab
9-3
2.0 T
150K miles

I recently had my fuel pump (and cask) along with the fuel filter fixed. I got the car home and the next day I the engine light went on with a P0442 code (EVP leak). I filled the car with gas and the gauge is not working properly and the tank leaks gas. The leak stops after a while (so I assume the issue is that the leak is at the top of the tank). My car did NOT have any gas leaks before the fuel pump issue. Can someone tell me if this is a common occurrence, or did my mechanic do something wrong?!

Your mechanic did something wrong. You need to take it back asap.

Theres a seal that goes around the fuel pump module that might not be sealing right.
That could cause the fuel leak and the evap code.
It could be the filler neck too.
Either way the guy who did the work should fix it right.
