2002 Pontiac grand am won't start

car sometimes won't start no radio noise when key is turned on, so I turn it back of and try again then it starts. No it does nothing last few times I tryed it won't do anything no radio noise, boosted and it starts and runs but when turned off won't start again totally dead, no radio noise. what could it be battery or something else no lights on the dash for alternator or anything else come on. Help

get the battery tested and make sure the connections are completely clean and tight
