Some one put sugar in my fuel tank burned out the pump, I took down the tank and swapped out old fuel pump...... Alright so I dumped the old fuel, cleaned out the tank (and let dry out completely overnight), installed the new fuel pump as instructed per manufacturers instructions and prior removal, installed the tank, plugged all the wires, swapped out old fuel filter (might as well I'm already down there)... After installing new fuel cap with lock and key (deter another malicious attack) recharging the battery, adding new fuel the car started fine...... Now there's another slight issue, the car runs BUT I keep hearing a backfire in the engine and when I press the gas it doesn't rev like it should normally and kind of dies when I try to Rev it that high (not stall) ... Any ideas what it could be??! I'm thinking on replacing the starter coil and check if it has to do with something with the spark plugs?? Again I'm not a mechanic I usually just google these things and attempt to DIM (do it myself)

You have a misfire that has to be located and diagnosed. Spark plugs or a bad coil are likely suspects.

I well definitely check that, but also when I placed my hands next to the muffler the exhaust fumes were extremely hot, if I was to leave my hands there a second longer I would of got 3rd degree burns! I'm pretty sure that high of temp isn't normal.

You'll probably burn you hands if you stick them in boiling water too. Don't do that.
