Sign In Hello.. I apologize if I do not use the correct wording.. I am not great with automobile terms Problem: I went through several large puddles on a dirt road tonight. I got on the main road and my check engine light went on and off for a while then finally stayed on. The vehicle is running extremely rough. I opened the hood and saw a spark (blue arc) coming from the ignition coil? (It is where the spark plug wires all meet..It is whatever the new version of the distributor cap is called) I recently had new plugs and wires put in about a month ago for regular maintenance. The question I have is could this be a simple changing of the part or should I have a mechanic check it out? Also.. Is this going to be a big deal? I apologize if this question is worded poorly.. I kind of would like to know what I should expect the next couple of days. Sign In If you can see it that's actually helpful. Wires or the coil(s) is not certain but the plastic of coils can easily crack if shocked with moisture or worse doused while hot especially.
