Hello, and thank you to whoever put up this forum.

I must first admit that I am almost entirely an idiot when it comes to cars, troubleshooting cars, and fixing cars, so allow me to give you all the details I can about my problem.

I drive a 2002 Buick Century Custom. It has about 70,000 miles on it, and has a V6 engine. I really don't know that much about the engine, and it's currently sitting at my sister's house, so I can not give anymore details than that.

The car has always been extremely reliable, with no problems starting in the winter, summer, or running in any sort of weather.

On January 31st, I rear-ended a red SUV and it destroyed the passenger-side headlight and bent in the front bumper/grill. I have not been able to get this replaced yet, but this may be related to the problem. My sister's husband pulled the grill back out and we fixed a very minor problem with the windshield wiper. After this, my car started right up, like usual. I was driving down the road for about 30 seconds and the engine shut off. The lights, power windows, radio, and everything else still works, but the engine does not even try to turn over when the key is turned. There were no strange noises, no knocking, the lights didn't dim, the radio didn't shut off, the engine just stopped and will not start back up.

Does anyone have any idea what this problem might be caused by? I am hoping for a simple solution, rather than a complicated one. The car's mileage is stellar, its reliability has been fantastic, and I've never had a major problem with it (even after the accident last month.)

Any input would be fantastic.

Interesting that you included the color of the SUV that you hit. That might be a factor here............LOL

There car really needs to be inspected before anyone is going to be able to tell you anything with any fact to it. My best guess is that a wire got damaged somewhere in the front of the car in the accident but that's only a wild guess.

More info! The engine turns on fine from under the hood. It's not locked up. But won't start when the key is turned.

Nobody said it was locked up. That only happens when you hit blue cars..........LOL
