2001 Chevy Venture Brake or Electrical Sign In

2001 Chevy Venture 200,000 miles. When I apply brake pedal pressure both of the turn signal indicators in the instrument cluster lights up (left and right). They may stay on for a period of time then go off or they may go off when you release the brake pedal. I have noticed that while they are on (and I am driving) I can hear a ‘click’ then the turn signals light does go off. The click sounds like a relay or switch.
Also, if you turn the left or right turn signal on (while both of the turn signal indicator lights are lit in the instrument cluster) the turn signal that you turned on will blink very fast. If the 2 turn signal indicators lights are not lit up and you turn on the left or right turn signal they will work normally.
I tried to engage the cruise control, it appeared to ‘try’ to work but didn’t and the ABS light in the instrument panel lit up. The ABS light did not stay ‘lit-up’ after I turned the car off and then crank it again.
I'm not sure if this is a brake problem or an electrical problem and I am certainly not a mechanic so any and all advice will be certainly appreciated.

Thanks in advance this is my first time on this forum.

Definitely is electrical related. I pretty sure these vans had problem with 4 way flasher switch. The relay for your turns is also in that switch you may hear is clicking, buzzing. You may also have a problem with your brake switch. turn the key on step on the brake and have a assistant check and make sure the lights are going on and off as they should.

ZMAME thanks for the reply. I will get someone to help me look at the rear lights and see whats going on back there.

Again thanks for the reply.

Re: 2001 Chevy Venture Brake or Electrical Sign In

I had removed the rear tail light assemblies to see if I could see anything wrong (I didn't). I replaced the rear tail light assemblies. Turned the key on pressed the brake and the car worked perfectly. The turn indicators did not light up like they did before.

I have moved the wiring under the dash (around the brake pedal) and the wiring at the rear tail light assemblies.
