Year: 20012 Make: Chevrolet Model: Tracker Zr2 Engine: V-6 Mileage: ~64,000 Hope you guys can help, or at least give me some guidance. About two weeks ago, the brake warning light started coming on when I would take left turns(and only left turns). It would come on briefly, sporadically, and only for sharp turns. I haven't noticed any changes in the braking ability of the vehicle, and after checking the fluid just to be safe, I didn't think much of it. Figured it was a short or something simliar. This morning however, the light is now coming on at even the slightest left hand turn of the wheel, like for example, changing lanes will cause the light to turn on. It is also now turning on at low speeds as I brake to a stop. Again, no noticeable changes in the braking ability, but, considering that the light is coming on more frequently now, I think it's time for an experts opinion.

Add some brake fluid to put the light off and then have the brake system checked for any leakage anywhere. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Yes as HT suggests also. To add - if you find brake fluid low do add to full, retract rubber bellows that most caps have first. Air shouldn't be allowed at brake fluid is the reason. If just normally low it can be a sign of brake wear especially disc brakes as they wear fluid displaces that wear - normally to a point. Rule out leaks - none allowable, T

He says he already checked it but I have no faith in his check. Just add a little and see if the light goes out.

Should have said it - I think a maybe is it could have been filled with bellows extended and doesn't have much in it - can't be sure of stuff we can't see. Should also note to OP if it really is all normal and full to still find out why. It was the turning of this car that made me think low fluid. If same light is parking brake I doubt that would care about turning while driving so predictably?? Who knows for sure but suspect low fluid. Probably or possibly from some Jiffy Wiffy oil change place that added and splashed out fluid with the bellows extended and may appear properly filled and not be. One look and we'd know or not if just that. If all that checks out it has to be chased down fast IMO, T
