2001 Chevy Blazer chugging until a certain speed Sign In

2001
Chevy
Blazer
4.3 L V6/ 135,642 Miles, fresh oil change about 2 weeks old, will be changed in March.

So our much loved 2001 Chevy Blazer LT has been having problems for the past few months. At first is would start chugging on hard accelerations, but if we slowly accelerated, it wouldn't chug. That was until we had the MAF replaced which was supposed to fix that problem. Now it chugs even on slow accelerations and until we hit 50 mph, it doesn't stop. It rarely gets to 50 anymore because once it hits 40-45 mph, it starts decelerating so we have to keep our foot on the gas pedal at a certain pressure otherwise is starts to stall. We are the second owners of the suv and have had it since summer of 2009. The previous owners didn't do any maintenance on it, and now we are paying the price. We have replaced the radiator two times, the fuel pump once, the entire cooling system, the MAF, and the distributor cap and all the parts with it. We also had the entire brake system replaced because our mechanic made a fubar. This is the second Blazer that this has happened to us on, and the first one never had the problem resolved. If it is something wrong with the engine, which is what I believe but the fam says it can't be, then we are just going to get a new car and stay away from Chevy vehicles because our 94 GMC Jimmy did not have this many problems.

Thanks in advance for any help!

What are the code numbers being set in the computer?

The only code that came up was P0101. And no codes have come up since. Even the Service Engine Soon light hasn't come up since we had the code read the week before Christmas.

With symptoms that bad you should be seeing some codes.

The first test I would probably try is testing the exhaust pressure to see if the converter may be plugged. That could give you a MAF code.
