2001 CONTINENTAL AIR RIDE

HOWDY FELLERS, I HAVE A '01 CONTINENTAL TOWN CAR. NEED TO REPLACE THE AIR BAGS ON THE REAR CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW IN THE HECK DO THEM THAR THINGS COME OUT??

  1. NOTE: The vehicle must be positioned on a suitable lifting device prior to deflating the air suspension system.Deflate the air suspension system;.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle;.
  1. Disconnect the air spring solenoid electrical connector and air line.
    • Compress the quick connect locking ring and pull out the air line.
  1. Lift the bottom of the air spring upward while depressing the locking tabs on the bottom of the air spring seat.
  1. Remove the air spring.
    1. Depress the locking tabs.
    1. Rotate and remove the air spring.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

I'm assuming you mean the town car and not the continental..theres a difference..the continental don't have a air ride and the town car does.if it is the town car and you're tired rear end sag...there kits available to replace the rear ride with regular springs using your shocks if you like..#1 its cheaper,#2 ithe ride is the same & 3..no more problems and easier to install..look on ebay..there are several companys that offer the whole kit for about $200.for the complete set...good luck

1995-02 can have air ride in continental.

THANKS, BUT I GOT THE BAGS DIRT CHEAP. NEIGHBOR HAS A TOWN CAR W/ SPRING MOD AND YOU'RE RIGHT IT RIDES GOOD

Just busting everyone: Continental starting in 89 I think was a stretched well equipped Taurus platform with tons of alterations like the suspension.

The Town Car was an option package on full size Continentals which ended in 1979. First car named Town Car was in 1980 which started the Panther platform for the full size Lincolns. 89 and up to ? real Continentals can rub tires if the air bags completely give out. Town Cars with those just sit so low you can't roll a golf ball under themMad
