2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNER NOX TOO HIGH

Trying to get a 2000 3.4l Toyota 4Runner to pass emission. The limit reading of NOX is 2.00. The reading the 4runner is producing in 6.34 befor a new cat, and 6.65 after replacing the cat. All the other ( HC, CO, and CO2) readings are with in spec with or without the new cat. Befor trying the new cat, was told to try some e85 fuel mixed with what was in the tank all ready. Can anybody lead me in the right direction.

You just wasted money on that stuff. NOX is a byproduct of high combustion temperatures. To lower NOX you have to lower the combustion chamber temp. That is the main job of the EGR valve so make sure that is working properly and not restricted. Next you want to look at thermostats and engine temps, maybe even ignition timing if it's adjustable.
