2000 Olds Alero Ignition Switch Problems

2000 Oldsmobile Alero:
My mechanic replaced the ignition switch with a new OEM switch. Now the 'Brake Light' on the dash is always on and also now the cruise control won't work.
What did he do wrong?
Should he charge me again to repair this related problem?

I don't believe that is a related problem but he should at least look at it.
You might same a trip if you check that your parking brake is released and the brake fluid is not low.
