2000
Mazda
Protege
1.6 liter
190k

She runs for 25-30 mins and stalls. Does matter how fast or slow you drive, she stalls out. Replaced the coils, spark plugs, fuel pump, map censor, and crank censor.

Does it start back up right after it stalls?
Check engine light on? If so, what trouble code numbers are being stored?

Re: 2000 Mazda Sign In

During the period of time it doesn't want to start, you need to check for spark, fuel pressure, and injector pulse.

You'll need a spark tester to check for spark.
Fuel pressure is difficult to check on that one because you have to attach a fuel pressure gauge inline.
Noid light is good to check for the presence of an injector signal.

One test you can try during your no start event is spraying some starting fluid into the intake while someone cranks the engine. If the engine starts and runs on the starting fluid, but stalls after you stop spraying you have no fuel. This can be from no fuel pressure or no injector pulse.

If the engine won't run on spray, you have an ignition problem and need to check for spark. If no spark is present, you'll have to troubleshoot as to why that is.

Basically your looking for direction, so you know where to begin testing.
