Is this actuated with a lever to the left of the center console or a switch on the dash?

Make sure tire pressures are all the same and the tires are all the same size or the transfer case won't complete the shift.

If that is good, inspect the linkage down at the transfer case. Make sure the cable is good and moves the lever on the transfer case.
