2000 Dodge/Stratus ES/6cyl/24valve/fuel-injected/2.5 eingine/91k miles. My problem started with the car sputtering when I accelerated it, then it gradually went to sputtering and stalling out if I accelerated it too hard (passed of 2k revs), then it started to give me trouble when starting (taking a crank or two to start) sometimes, then other times it just kept turning and turning but wouldnt start. I couldnt pinpoint the reason why the car would just start fine one day and just not start at all the next day... I eventually got to the point where I had to use starter fluid to get it going everytime, but eventually even that didnt get it to start. So I took it to a shop where the mechanic replaced the Fuel Pump and fuel filter because he told me he didnt hear the noise of the fuel pump coming on when i hit the ignition switch. It drove fine for about 2 a week then back to square 1, (sometimes started, other times nothing). So I had another mechanic take a look at it, and he couldn't find the problem because the car started every time for him, days later I asked him to look at it again and this time it wouldnt start and he was baffled as to why. I had to put a new batter in the car because all the cranking and no starts had drained it, then checked the fuses and they all worked, then we checked the sparkplugs and there we found that spark wasn't reaching the sparkplugs, so he said that it was either the coils or the distributor.... then we found out that the coils are built into the distributor for this model, so we changed the distributor... Now atleast it starts, but it still takes 2 or 3 cranks to start it and it still sputters like a Model-T to get started... I have tried all I can think of and cant get to the bottom of this... Im worried that whatever the problem it, it's going to eat through another battery or distributor... If anyone has had this kind of problem before or if anyone has some ideas of what this might be, I will appreciate any help I can get..

Thanks...
