2000 Civic DX 2-door coupe 80K.

Car was stolen, found and towed to repair shop. No comprehensive coverage on the car.

Quoted ~$1600 to Replace Steering column/ignition, new battery, replace catalytic converter, repair seats, + pay for initial tow ($150)
I am not likely to get an alternative quote, I feel that this quote is appropriate for parts + labor.

Car was in good condition, well equipped for DX with power locks, windows, sunroof, alarm system all intact, good tires. Probably would ask $4500 before the incident.

Repair shop offering $300 to take it off my hands as is.

Any advice? I lean walking away from it, who knows if it will run after the repairs they have found, seems like the thieves did a Sh!tty number on it -- but potential is there to repair and sell quickly and possibly make $1500-2000. I also wonder if I could do better than $300 being offered as-is.

Thanks,
Andrew

They are trying to steal it from you. It's worth a lot more than that. Civics are in big demand right now.

This car is in high demand as Hammer Time said. What concerns me is how much unseen damage and problems could be lurking.

Unless squished flat this car is worth more than that $300 just in parts IMO,
