Hi, I recently purchased a Ford escort 1999 about 3 months ago. It ran fine at first, although I had only driven it a few times. (waiting till I get car insurance to drive it more). I had to move it a few weeks ago so they could plow the roads and it wouldnt start. Had my husband jump start the car and it started. I tried to start it again the next day and it wouldnt start. I left it for about a week and then had to move it again because of the snow, tried to jump start it again and it didnt work. So had to push it. Then the next day I bought a new battery, tried to start the car and it worked. I didnt know this but my husband broke the screw or the bolt that held the battery in place when replacing it, not knowing this i drove the car to the store down the street the next day (it took two turns to start) and then i got to the store turned it off was in the store for 5mins came out and the car wouldnt start. My husband thought the connectors came lose and when he got off work he tightened them and the car started. Now another week goes by and today I walk to the car and unlock it with my clicker/keychain and the doors unlock and I try to start the car, and nothing. I get out try to lock the doors with the clicker and it doesnt work. Is there something wrong with my battery connectors, is the bolt that broke causing this? ( i know nothing about cars ) The new battery worked fine when tested at the store.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Ditto: The parts that just hold a battery in place easily bust off and lots more work than meets the eye. You can't have a loose battery or it can touch/tilt and short out plus the cable ends are junky from new. If not assertively greased up in snow belt area especially with road salts those bust up too. There's stuff for all that and still not that easy to get just right and no doubt needs all of that.
Seems like just a new battery should be a cake walk - this stuff can require some tools and know how and also suggest getting help if only for just that,
