~107,000 miles.
My problem started actually around 2 weeks ago, when my voltmeter decided to drop to the red line at 9 volts. I thought this could possibly be another quirk in my dash, because at times my entire dashboard would just sit in the off position while the car was running, but hitting a random button or two would fix that. Anyways when my voltmeter did that, I pulled the car over, stopped it, turned it back on, and everything was normal.
I was out of town, so my car got to sit for a week, but after I returned, I was driving it, and nothing was happening. I even managed to drive back to my college, which was an hour and a half away from home with no issues from the voltmeter. After I was unpacked, I hopped in my car, turned it on, but now it was reading around 10-11 volts, then after about 30ish seconds it would drop down to 9. After stopping it and restarting it now it returns to 10-11 and drops to 9 again. I only drove it for 5 minutes today, parked it and tried to restart it and it wouldn't start.
I got a new battery around 5-6 months ago, should I believe its that, or is the more likely assumption my alternator?

You should start by getting the battery charged then having the charging system checked. After all repairs are made, the next test would be for a parasitic draw.
