1997 nissan sentra sputerrs and dies when it reaches normal temp Sign In

I have this 1997 nissan sentra been working well for two years. It then started to give me alternator trouble. I tried to switch battery once ended up frying Ecm. Replaced it and fixed alternator but been sputtering since and making cracking noises when going uphill.scanned it and had theses codes P0100 and P 0505 what should i do? Please keep in mind i'm living in Haiti if it helps.

Computer is finding a fault with the MAF sensor. Inspect the intake ducting for rips and tears. Inspect the MAF sensor connector and wiring harness for damage or chaffing.

Thank you very much. Will do that but do you think that this will resolve the problem. If not what should the next step be?

I don't know if it will solve your problem, but those are some of the things that could affect MAF sensor performance.

If those things are good, you'll need to do electrical checks of the MAF sensors circuits.

I also forgot to add that sputtering hets worse when i turn on the AC and that when i turn the lights on at night the dashboard lights up normally at first and slowly fades away as time passes.

Using a volt meter watch the charging system voltage at the battery terminals when the problem is showing up. Charging system voltage should be around 13.5-14 volts.

If the battery voltage gets too low while the engine is running, that can cause all kind of wacky computer problems.
