1997 Ford F-150 4x4 4.6L
We pulled it in the our garage and replaced the front rotors / pads AND Calipers. Brakes were working when we pulled it in. After we replaced everything we did a two person brake bleed. We got all of the air out of the system but the brake pedal is still going all the way to the floor. We are not finding all leaks in the system.
One concern: After the brake lines were disconnected from the calipers we left them hanging and I think most of the brake fluid drained out of the master cylinder. (It took a long time to get the rotors off and then we had to order a new hub and install.3 Weeks total)

Master Cylinder: In checking the master cylinder I had my son pump the brakes as i watched the reservoir, as he pumped the brakes the fluid dropped about a 1/4" but there were no bubbles or swirling of fluid. Once he stopped pumping and released the brake pedal the reservoir level returned the starting level. The only thing I did see is as he pumped it looked like a little geyser in the back section of the reservoir.
Thanks

I would bite the bullet and purchase another master cylinder. With it being dry that long, the cups and seals could have dried somewhat. Brakes are not something you want to shortcut. The price of a master cylinder is very cheap compared to an accident.

I would check just one thing before springing for the master cylinder. Go look at the calipers and see if the bleeder is above the line or below the line fitting. If you happen to find the bleeder below the line, then you have the calipers on the wrong side of the car. I see it done quite often.

Hammer Time, Great call, Rookie mistake on our part. I should have checked my sons work, my mistake but he is still learning. We will change them out on Friday and let you know how it goes. We to go get more brass washers from ford, they are use once items.
Thanks Again

You can re-use the washers if you want to. As you tighten the banjo bolt, tap on the head a couple times with a small hammer, then tighten it a little more, then repeat so it gets tight and seats the washer without stripping the bolt threads.

Glad it worked out for you.
You're certainly not the first to do that.
