I recently bought this car, and i bought it knowing the strut and coil spring were broken on the same side. I went ahead and risked driving it the seventy five miles or so back home, and after hitting a couple rough spots, it started making a loud grinding noise. When i got it home i jacked it up and took the tire off. When i spin the hub assembly, it makes the grinding noise, and sometimes it will get caught for a second like something inside broke off and is getting caught. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

If it's not the brakes catching, it's likely a bad hub bearing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
