Hello all!
Just recently purchased a 1996 Mits Galant from a private seller. Car runs ok, and the only problem I have is getting it going! Here is some info for you:
1996 Mitsubishi Galant, 4 door, 2.4L 4 cyl. engine. Has 200k miles on it.......
As I just bought the car I don't know what kind of previous issues it has had, but the one that I am having right now is getting it to start. When I turn the key, sometimes it starts up just fine! Other times i turn the key and nothing happens (or i hear a ticking/buzzing noise). If i keep trying the ignition i eventually get it going after the 3rd-4th attempt.
When I turn the ignition on slowly, the lights DO come on, as well as the radio and A/C. I have gone under the hood and replaced a blown ABS fuse, but everything else looks good. I have gone to O'Reilly and had the Battery, and alternator checked and they are both fine. I am beginning to think it might be the ignition but none of the things I have read online have really confirmed my theory.

It sounds like a connection problem.
If you have a manual for your car look for all the ground points and check them real good.
It does kinda sound like the ignition switch though, but don't throw parts at it until you have a good diagnoses telling you to replace a certain part.
