1996 Falcon Longreach Ute CUTTING OUT / STALLING

Hi all,
Several months ago I hit a large puddle of water at speed, instantly my car cut out, but restarted again after about half an hour of trying.
Since then it just cuts out nearly every time I drive it. (This happens whilst driving at 70 KH, and when stationary at traffic lights) I now just leave it for half an hour and return and it always re-starts.
After it has cut out, it will turn over, but will not start.
I have had 2 mechanics look at it, but they were unable to diagnose a problem, 1 thought it may be the dizzy or the Crank Angle Sensor. However it cuts out when it is Hot or Cold, as it has several times cut out after only 30 seconds of driving.
Any advise would be much appreciated as I do not have a lot of money to replace items that will not fix the problem.
I am unsure if I need to bring it to another mechanic, or try an Auto Electrician.

I believe this car is mostly like a Taurus sold in the US where most of us are. Should have OBDII diagnostics to tell you at least what circuit is failing. If enough water spraying all over and it sucked up some or lots may take looking right and testing out what broke or cracked perhaps?
