1996 Eclipse, multiple problems

1996 Eclipse had a blow turbo. So a friend of mine was bringing it down to a basic stock setup. 2.0 with no turbo. I put it in the shop to get some stuff put in and hooked up. The problem that they ran into was that the engine was sparking and firing but would not stay running and the alternator fuse blew as soon as they gave the car power.
We already kind of figured out that it might need a new computer (which I have found one).
Any insight would be greatly appreaciated, thank.
