are you checking with a test light, a multimeter or just pulling it out and looking at it?

If the fuse is loose in the block you would need to get those wires that go to it fixed. You would need a terminal release tool to get them out and put new ends on them, or you could cut them out and solder in an inline fuse holder which will still give you a fuse protected circuit.

You certainly didn't fix anything and you cannot leave that wire grounded or you will have a dead battery and burned out fuel pump. You just over rode the computer which doesn't tell you much of anything.

Re: 1994 mx6 blinker and brake lights not working Sign In

Relays only have one ground, usually terminal 86. That controls the control side of the relay which actuates the load side. The PCM provides the ground when it sees the correct parameters that it either isn't seeing or now lacks the ability to control properly. You bypassed that and now the fuel pump runs constantly which will kill your battery and your pump. Need to troubleshoot what is missing in this circuit and get it back to stock wiring ASAP.

Re: 1994 mx6 blinker and brake lights not working Sign In

with the way i hooked it up the pump only runs when the key is switched start i did not leave it like that the relay has 4 prongs to have power and to do not if i put my volt meter on and jump to of them side by side i get 12v but when i jump the other to i donot get anything unless i ground out the one side so what your saying is theres 2+ 1- and what does the other one do ?

Yes, you are wrong. That wire goes to the computer and is the way the computer controls the fuel pump. The pump is only supposed to run under certain criteria and the computer makes that decision.

You're going to have to find out why the computer is not turning it on. Are you even checking it the right way? It only powers for 2 seconds when the key is turned on and resumes when cranking. The computer has to see a tach signal or it won't turn it on.

You'll have to test that wire back to the computer and find out if the computer is actually applying a ground to the wire..

Re: 1994 mx6 blinker and brake lights not working Sign In

I've justed skimmed this thread real quick so have probably missed something but I'm gonna add my 2 cents here real quick.....

The car started until you messed with the fuse box........go back & triple check all the wiring you worked on......

If that doesn't work then use the diagram HT posted.......Start with the fuel pump relay....As you can see 2 terminals are going to have 12 volts & 2 will have a ground.

As long as you have 12v on both terminals and can turn the pump on by jumping the fuel pump terminal then for some reason the PCM isn't grounding the relay and then you would need to start checking inputs....

You did catch HTs post about the PCM only powering the pump for 2 seconds with the key on.....right??? Meaning if you are doing this by yourself, by the time you get to where ever after turning the key on......there will be no power......even if the system was working perfectly....

i did trace the wire back it runs from the relay to the fuse block unless they used the same colour wire for 20 things its he only one of that colour i can find but from there it changes colour

No, it doesn't go to the fuse box.

Lets back up here and get an engine size because there appears to be a difference of wire color in engine size,
