1994 Ford Ranger | Battery dips (shuts down sometimes) when I brake Sign In

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger with 128,000 miles. This afternoon I cleaned out my IAC valve and placed the idle control back in it. The vehicle shakes and rattles less now. However, when I brake, the battery line dips. The nose of battery indicator goes from 3/4 full to almost 1/4. A couple times it has shut off. I have a new fuel filter, replaced spark plugs, and placed a new crank censor. It still does this once in a while. Once this happens, the vehicle has a difficult time cranking up immediately after. I'll wait for a few minutes, let the engine sit, then crank it again and it starts. I am willing to fix it myself.

What else could the problem be?

I would rig up a fuel pressure gauge and monitor what the fuel pressure does during the failure.

That's the one thing I don't have. Is this something Autozone might do or O'Reileys?

They may rent or loan you one.
