1993 Buick Regal Custom
265,000 Miles
3.8L V6

I was originally driving to work about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks ago, took a right turn, and all of a sudden I experience a stall and the car died. Parked it, came back and belt was shot, battery was dead, fluid/coolant all over. Towed it home, and now I'm finally getting around to it!

I replaced the battery, alternator, checked the fuel pump (its shooting out when ever you turn the ignition, from behind the fuel filter), replaced the fuel filter, cable going from the alternator to the computer because it was melted together, replaced the hose coming from the coolant pump to the engine (if looking from the front straight at the engine you will see a small 8-9 in snaked hose going from what looks like a pump to another inlet/outlet)

What i think happened was the belt quit stalled the car, popped the coolant hose, hose shot coolant all over, and shot the alternator, and shorted out the wire. Now I have no idea where to go from here!!!

Now there is a Service Engine Soon light on, and a Check Gauges Light on...Prior to the issue there was always a low coolant dummy light on, but it was full inside the radiator, but low on the side reservoir l. There was originally sediment, a little oil on the bottom of the reservoir and a small amount in the radiator. I flushed the radiator and it is clean of all oil.

For good measure I checked the oil and viscosity was present, but the oil looks a little old, understandable for a 265,000 mile car.

Any ideas? I'm aware that the basic trouble shooting is Fuel/Spark/Air. Not sure where to go, and obviously i am missing something here.

THANKS!!!

By not "turning over" do you mean engine won't crank or cranks and won't start? Don't use that description as it's confusing.

At the age and miles with a belt seems like fully broke and who knows how it whipped around and what it could have damaged other than what you noted already?

Yes about fuel, spark, air but throw in compression and valve timing too at these miles.

It's your car sport but sounds like you need a head gasket job and tons more of maybe problems like the timing chain and this car can't be worth throwing more money at IMO and the oil in the radiator isn't going to help anything rubber in the cooling system. If trans oil and not engine oil it could have hurt or will kill that too. Your car, your call,
