1992 Toyota 4Runner issues and some doubts.. Sign In

Hello everybody, a while ago i posted a topic regarding to some issues i have with two vehicles, on this one i will talk about the problems i have with a 1992 Toyota 4Runner vehicle i own...

Earlier on july this year i made a short trip to a local Hobby club which is where i fly rc helicopters, the distance from where i live is somewhat like 50 km so it only takes me 45 minutes to go there.. soo when i was on my way back from there my car started to loose power, i was having explosions coming from the muffler area and it finally died when i was on my way near home i hit the gas gently and i just didnt have a good response from the engine (it didnt accelerate), so i checked everything, water, oil, air filter, battery voltage, generator.. looking for something burnt, connections to the spark plugs and it was fine, no luck.., i took the truck to a workshop recommended from the guy who sold me the truck, the mechanic told me that i have an overheated engine and of course pistons and internal parts are damaged, he told me he was going to change pistons, connecting rods, spark plugs, spark plugs wires, and he was going to clean out the injectors, after 4 months of waiting he gave me back the truck.. unfortunately though it wasnt good at all, when i turned the engine on it sounded like if it was misfiring or there was a problem with the fuel/air mix, i called the guy who "repaired" the truck, he told me that the ECU was having a problem on one injector which wasnt working as it should be, after 2 weeks struggling with him to locate him by his cellphone he finally picked it up and told me to go with him with an expert with toyota ECU's, the guy told us that the ECU was burnt, i got scammed by my mechanic, there is 2 posibilities of what he did, 1, he didnt install everything correctly and burnt the ECU, or 2, he stole my ECU and put another one which was already burnt, im not going to deal with him anymore, i bought a new ECU for my toyota but i have some questions and doubts.. what could happen if i install the ECU?, can i burn it if i do so?, what happened on my way back from my rc hobby club? (the muffler explosions and the engine dieing), do i need to check for connections and wires before i install the ECU?, what would you recommend me to do?, i dont want to go with another guy from where i live because im afraid they just remove good parts from my truck and put bad ones on it. here is a video when i received my truck you can hear it misfiring and clearly listen that something is wrong. Thank you very much, any help is greatly appreciated and sorry for my english lol Tongue

P.S: I forgot to mention that my truck has a 3.0 Liter V6 EFI 3VZ Engine, my mileage is 93 thousand kilometers (which you can see on the video)
