Electric inline Fuel pump leaking at pressure release valve. Sealed leak with epoxy and stopped the leak. The car no longer leaks fuel, but now dies when ever I step on the gas, otherwise it will start up and idle (roughly and high). wondering if altering the fuel pump has lead to this problem? I want to know if I can put a "universal" inline fuel pump on this car of the same volt as the other pump, and have it adequately work? The car is 20 years old, in bad shape, so spending 250 on a new pump seems unwise. I cannot find a replacement pump of same make or model in local junk yards.

will the Universal fuel pump work on my old Subaru wagon?

Depends on the fuel pressure requirements of your engine and the output of the replacement pump.

I am not sure what those specs are. Do you know where in/on/about the car I could find this information and determine?

I don't have the specs in front of me right now, maybe someone with a book can jump in here & let you know.
