Dear Tom or Hammer,

Truck ran like a top after replacing the Engine Control Module, the 2057 bulbs
doing better than the 1157 bulbs. Thank YOU! New problem... it appears the
T.B.I. or "throttle body injection" is now being adversely affected by moisture.

Only when the humidity level goes up, is when the burping, chugging, chuffing,
and gasp-urping kicks in. Sadly, many people in Hamilton and most of the shade
tree don't know anything or about anything about Throttle Body Injection.

After the accident in 2008, and apparent 'replacement' of the M.A.P. Sensor,
and M.A.T. Sensor (What are they and what do they do?) I am going on a very
strong hunch, the T.B.I. may need replacement, or are there rebuild kits and
gaskets for this?

Could it be that moisture or some humidity issues are making the T.B.I. do
the same thing? It's only doing the crank, starts, runs, then gurps, burps,
gasps, chuff, chuff, die. Some stores have a T.B.I. for about 260+/- bucks.
Only on dry days, or sunny warm days when truck runs like a top now.

Dear Tom and Forum,

Just something to let you know. I didn't have enough money to have
the truck towed, so I was looking around the truck and found some parts
for the next tune up. Dist cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and called a friend of
mine, who has smaller hands than me, to put on a new distributor cap,
and rotor.

He came over, and swapped out the cap, and got the rotor out. Turned
out, IT WAS NEVER replaced, as it was the original rotor!! It was burnt on
the tip of the metal tang / metal contact part, and somehow 'flattened'
with rust on it and where the shaft goes to it. Put in a new rotor and truck
runs fine and good. Waiting to test it under rainy conditions.

That could explain the popping, and burping ECT. Well, if it fails during
exteme humidity, and moisture or heavy rain (if Texas gets any!) I will
update accordingly. :) For those of you tired of the snow, and the salt on
the highways move to Texas! It's warm, sunny, dry, drought and dust bowl!
I guess I don't see the reason to move up north anyways? Texas has no
unions and its a 'right to work' state. :P

If I forgot to mention about the dist cap/rotor my bad, but I had assumed
the last time it was serviced, the rotor was replaced. Turned out the shade
tree mechanic tried to pull the wool over my eyes. *SIGH* I got 'serviced'

Dear Tom and Group,

Well I got off the phone with my 'friend' Myron after
he replaced the distributor cap, and rotor (thinking
that solved the problem) but turned out, it didn't and
after another rain storm, the truck ran good for a few
minutes, then died.

I vainly spent 10 minutes trying to crank and get it
to start. I'd crank a few min, stop then tried again in
the rain. No dice. It started up smooth and then it
just died.

I had the fuel tank flushed, fuel pump replaced, fuel
sending unit replaced, fuel lines purged, inline fuel
filter replaced, fuel injector replaced, starter replaced,
key ignition replaced, battery replaced, M.A.P. and
M.A.T. sensors replaced, air filter replaced, Engine
Control Module replaced, and put fresh gas in it. I
had the rotor and distributor cap also replaced, and
checked the plug wires to snap them good on the cap.

Does not want to run before, during or after a rain storm,
so I "RE" disconnected the battery cables. After the rotor
and cap was replaced, it ran smooth and good, and then
drove to Waco, went somewhere to eat, drove to Hillsboro
and back home. Nothing wrong till a rain storm came along
and now it started up OK and fine, but then died, and won't
start.

I really don't understand the problem, and right now I had
some heavy expenses to cover. So don't know when I'll
have the money to take it to a professional who can look at
it. I told my friend Myron and he don't know what else can
be wrong.

If there are anyone else who has the same problem as I
do, I hope there is a solution. At least now I am restoring
this truck weather I wanted to or not. But I hope it can't
get pregnant. I'm so poor, I can't afford a 'new' truck with
down payment, and full coverage insurance. With my bad
credit score, and credit history, this 'new' year is looking
like last year and year before that. :P
