I accidently put positive cable on negative post and negative cable on positive post. There was a big spark. Now there is absolutely no power to the car-no radio, no lights, etc. , even though the battery has been checked to be in excellent condition. It has to be an electrical problem, but where? A circuit breaker in the engine compartment? A fuse under the dash? Reading between lines the battery state of charge was low so you jumped it. That or connections bad. New battery alone may not be fully charged. I don't know how battery tested "excellent" but if so and fully charged and you have no power to anything now I'd take a hard look at the cable ends of side post batteries especially as they can rot right out and be the weakest link. So - If battery is charged now, follow current to starter on positive terminal and see if current is at the starter solenoid. Another may go to alternator directly and be a fused link but I don't think that will stop all electrical anything. You'll have to have a known good charged battery with good connections at both ends of both battery cables to further diagnose unless one is the trouble now? Might be.
