09 Jetta passenger lock not unlocking	Sign In

2009 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition
58,000 miles

the passenger side rear door intermittenly wont unlock with the key fob. the other 3 doors work normally.

my buddy says when he is close to the door in question and the lock is malfunctioning he can hear a motor like straining.

do you think its a failing actuator? or a stuck door latch?

Both things would have the same symptoms. You're just going to have to open it up and see. If the lock moves easily by hand, I would lean toward the actuator.
