03 trailblazer leaks gas bad when completly filled

I installed a fuel pump in my sons 03 trailblazer a coupole weeks ago. It has a 4.2. Everything was fine until it was completely filled last night .Gas was really leaking. Leaks only when completely filled. Use a couple gallons it stops. Seems to be upper front of tank. Thanks Ed.

Your going to have to figure out where the leak is at. You may have to drop the tank again.
One thing are shop does when we do fuel pump jobs is to smoke the tank to see if there are any leaks before sticking it back up in the vehicle.
Guess it's just one of thing those things when you don't have access to that equipment.

Yeah I think maybe I have a bad fuel pump seal. It cant be a line because you think it would leak all the time being under pressure.

Your right, it probably isn't a line because it would be leaking when the fuel pump was running no matter how much was in the tank. Also make sure your filler pipe hose isn't leaking where it connects to the tank.
Those seals can be a pain sometimes when trying to hold the sender down while installing the lock ring. Vasoline on the seal helps with getting the sender to slip down easy, so you don't end up with half the seal pushed out of its groove.

Filler pipe is not leaking,I can see it pretty good. Only thing I can think of is the fuel pump seal.Anybody else be free to bang away.

I think you are right. Can you even see it if it takes a dental type mirror while in place for evidence? It's that or back out to check and replace what failed IMO,
