I need some advice. I have a 2003 GMC Sonoma 4x4 crewcab 4.3 L. when the engine is cold (40degrees or below) and sitting for over 24hrs, engine cranks but will not start. If I plug in the engine block heater for 1/2 hr or so it will start up no problem and once it starts I have no problems all day runs great. I had no problem all summer. I live in northeast Wisconsin. There is no engine warning lights. I have put in a fuel pump about 3yrs ago, I can hear the fuel pump humming. This problem started last winter. Since then I have put in a coil, cap and rotor. I have replaced the fuel filter and oil pressure sensor.

The first thing you want to do is test the fuel pressure in the morning when this is happening. This engine requires a minimum of 55 PSI to run and the colder it gets, the more it needs.
