sounds like you are losing voltage to PCM... which engine - the mention of convertable has me thinking... checking the fuse box for an issue with fuse, several fuses power it up, ignition switch, Is there a remote starter? if there is start there

You need to verify that the ASD relay is powering up. It powers for 2 seconds when the key is first turned on and again when cranking begins. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

When the problem is happening, you should throw a scanner on it to see if you can communicate with the PCM or not. The PCM should be powered up when you turn the ignition on. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I've never seen that error code before.......I've seen "no buss" 3 times before......2 were bad PCMs....The 3rd one was a bad battery....That was kind of embarrassing... Intermittents always suck to work on...but you got some good advise on were to start looking...

That's not really a code...more of an error message.....Usually a network communication problems will bring those up... HT & Kev gave you some good places to check 1st, that can be the root of a lot of problems.....DS mentioned checking it with a scan tool...You should really do that when it's acting up to see if you can communicate with comp....also see if there are any codes stored & post them here...
