!977 Ford Granada Sign In

Hey,
I have a 1977 Ford Granada, with 33,000 miles on it, 8,000 from myself. I recently put on a new modulator because my transmission flui was leaking. And days after i put that on i started to notice that i had to start pressing down more on my gas pedal, and that my car just isn't getting the acceleration that it used to. i'm just wondering if anybody has an idea about what it might be?? i would greatly appreciate it because this is my baby just want it to be running like it should. thank you.

Sounds like an exhaust restriction which would probably be the converter.

A vacuum test could reveal this for you. If not sure about that I'll try to make a searchable post on vacuum testing as a diagnostics. It may be old way but so am I!

Is it a lack of power from a dead stop or is it a downshifting problem? I believe the modulator has a vacuum port on it. Make sure the line is not cracked causing a vacuum leak.
