volvo s40 engine trouble

Volvo 2002 S40-engine sounds rough after adding freon to the AC system. Also, when cabin fan is turned on, it causes the motor to shut off.

This just started after adding refrigerant?? You almost certainly have too much in it which will destroy expensive parts. to the A/C. If you didn't add refrigerant knowing the pressures you have to start that job over. A compressor can take a lot of power out of your engine and even stall and lock up.
If you added refrigerant without knowing both high and low pressures and as you said this just happened then - then get it recovered and fill it by volume. T
