I have a 1980 Old cutlass with the V-6. I do not know much about cars so you help will be greatly appreciated. Firdt all, my Oil/Choke light started staying on constantly. While driving to work, I lost alot of power and could not go faster than 30mph. Then I was pretty much at a stand still. I waited for about 15mins and started the car. Started just fine but the oil/choke light is still on and no power when I hit the gas. Seems to idle just fine though. Any ideas?

First check your oil now -- I'll wait........... If that car still has a carb they frequently lost control of it either with the choke heater or choke pull offs. If the choke stays on too long you won't get much power. If this is fuel injected this post is irrelevant and ignore it. Choke must shut off or you will way over burn gas and foul plugs and some more troubles. You can either watch the choke open and feel the heat in the choke spring (black thing with a wire to it) and it should be wide open in little time. If you find some faults check out a whole rebuilt carb as those parts get expensive. Good luck, I think you'll find carb faults, T
