misses and blows black smoke

1993 Pontiac Grand Am , 6 cyl , over 100,000 mi , ran ok till yesterday , runs ok when at idle but as soon as I start to back up the driveway it starts missing real bad and blows black smoke , don't know if it makes a difference but it does have a bad exhaust system
