have a 2001 ford expedition 5.4 80000 mi.stopped at stopsign took off large puff of white smoke,went away week later same thing but now smoking constantly.changed pcv valve.smells more like tranny fluid,but no vacumn activated modulator..any ideas?

Have you checked the fluid levels? Which one, if any is dropping?
