Do (cold engine off) put a Q tip drop or spray of like WD-40 on these things when extended on the cable or wire all over. Hood release, trunk/hatches gas doors - anywhere. Gas pedal on inside too up and under. When these things break they are a PITA to correct vs a few seconds of prevention.
