Which transmission did the Ram have? Is the Ram 4wd or 2wd? Is the Durango 4wd or 2wd? Did you compare the flywheels to be sure they are the same? They should be, of course.

When you mean turn over, do you mean the starter isn't activating or the starter is activated, but doesn't spin the crank?

I don't think the starter from the Ram will work on the Durango because it is bolted to the passenger side on the Durango and on the driver's side on the Ram and they both have different drive gears.

Durango starter clocking and gear:

I have a feeling the Ram's starter on the Durrango isn't going to work.

Just curious, but what happened to the original engine? Did you have the same issue with the starter on the old engine?

Re: flywheel help Sign In

you installed the 05 ram engine did the starter come with the engine?
you have NOT switched flywheels have you?

hopefully replacement engine was NOT a junk yard find-
I would confirm the dodge ram is what it was claimed to be- year model etc...

Re: flywheel help Sign In

Before you play musical starters, have you tried putting a breaker bar on the crank pulley and seeing if this engine is locked up? Online can be a great place for deals but its also a great place for scammers to unload junk on people and take their money.
