my oil filter got punctured and i did not notice i drove the car a mile on the freeway and got off to gas up and she started to run a little rough and then turned off i coasted down the road trying to start and i thought dam my battery is dead and im out of gas? well thats not the problem. I can Hand turn the crank with the sparks out and i have oiled the top end. How hard is it to hand turn the crank supposed to be my turns when i use my leg to push the breaker bar. Is there any hope ? 1995 nissan quest 130k engine was tight prior to this

You can bet you did some very serious damage. They don't run without oil. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If you don't want to spend the dollars on a used engine, then don't even think about rebuilding yours. It will be more expensive. Your options are basically buy a good used engine which is still a big gamble or buy a factory reman long block.
