93 mazda 626 4cylinder. I was checking my plug wires and started the car without putting one back in. The car started but shut off quickly. Now it won't start at all any help would be appreciated.

Check for spark at any plug wire or all. Understood it would stall on 3 of 4 only but might have stressed something out.
Issue could be now inside cap if wire left off spark found somewhere to go other than thru that wire,

Does it have spark? Could have overloaded the coil if you had a plug wire just hanging out in open air and not allowing the high voltage to find ground.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Dang you are fast DS! Yes the weakest link if coil could have take a hit. Check first, there are some ways to ohm test coils to see if one croaked,

So I should try a new coil pack? I don't think it has spark but haven't been able to test yet

No. Test for spark with a spark tester. If you don't have one get one as the swaptronics game is just expensive,

Tester a plain one would do for now like this............
It lights up when high voltage goes thru it AND fires plug. Cheap item to own,

So if I test the plugs for spark and don't have it. Is the a way to test the coil and the cap?

Before even getting the DVOM out try spraying the high voltage parts (secondarys) with either tap water or better yet with some salt in it. Weak areas if spark is there but not going the right ways will arc - sometimes doesn't work but so easy to try this,
