Misfire, gas in oil

230,000 miles
It rained for a couple of days, and then on the way home from work 2 nights ago, check engine light started blinking. Rough idle, low power, used up more gas than usual. Sometimes when it rains, it does this for a couple of minutes, but this time, it didn't stop, and it's still doing it a day later.
Today, I checked oil, it smelled of gas.
I changed out the spark plugs and wires, didn't help. Didn't change out Distributor Cap/Rotor.
Took to Auto Zone, got the fault codes.
P0300 Random Misfire Detected
P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow Detected
P0440 EVAP System No Flow During Purge
When I start the engine, the CEL doesn't start blinking or idling rough at first, but after 20-30 seconds, it starts doing it.
Not sure what is going on. Intake gasket? Front O2 Sensor? Worse?
Time to junk it and buy another?

Arggh! Gas in oil, 230K and 20 years old: What to do?
IDK - fuel in oil can dilute it quickly and cause fast wear of engine. Usually caused by leaking injectors or not told to shut off in this somehow?
When newer that was a project and some heavy bucks alone but that can't be the end of it.
Taking this a decision time for the truck and think at the age and miles unless body and interior was really exceptional would swap out or use for parts for another like one OR get what you can and move on.
I take miles and condition as the rule. Everything in the vehicle has gone 230K not just an engine alone without ridiculous care all along will make a vehicle annoying you with silly stuff constantly at some point. You would know best if it time to spend in and bail out,

sounds like a problem with so called 'spider' fuel injection system.
Do a fuel pressure test then with KOEO observe pressure leak down.
Google "spider replacement 4.3 chevy" there may be a youtube video to help understand the issue and repair...

I agree with Kevin. Injector stuck on, fuel pressure regulator is leaking, ect. You can also remove the throttle body and use an inspection mirror to peer at the fuel injector assembly and regulator. Maybe you can visually see a leak going on while someone primes the fuel pump by turning the ignition on.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
