I May Have Bought The Wrong Size Battery For My Car Sign In

Hi, I hope I am posting in the correct place. I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE. I have been told for the last year that my battery needed replacing when I went in for oil changes. It is over 5 years old. I recently had my oil changed at the same chain store and asked what size my engine was. I had previously used several VIN translation sites but could not figure it out. I was told by the man where I was having my oil change that it was a 2.0 L. It has to be a 1.8 L or 2.0 L that much I found out by different searches. I went to an automotive store and told them I had a 2.0 L engine and that is the battery I bought. I then worried the oil change man might be wrong. I found a different VIN decoding site that said my car had a 1.8 L engine and now I am worried something will go wrong with my car. Will the wrong size battery cause damage? Is there a 100% accurate VIN decoding site that is easy to understand for engine size?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Same - Just be sure it's held in place well still with the hold down parts. Mark it with a silver Sharpie the date so you don't have to go looking for it later - DATE it was new so if you have it I'd do it earlier than 5 years - your call on that,
