Honda Civic EX 98' HELP!!

I have a Honda Civic EX 98' 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder. I'm having some trouble and running out of ideas. My car is skipping, I have changed the plug and wires, checked the distributer and they are fine. Misfire coming from plug 2, but it will get fire sometimes and sometimes its not. Add to this, I had to replace my radiator because it was cracked and the top hose is not getting any pressure, the antifreeze is going somewhere, but I can't see it and its not leaking on the ground. I can fill it up and the resivoir will be bone dry. I have changed the thermostat as well and my car stopped heating for a day an a half, but i checked the thermostat on my car and put it in a pot of boiling water and when it got to its temperature i could see it move in and out like its suppose too. I had drove my car for 8 hours and it didn't heat until going onto the 7th hour (and i'm not saying i drove it 8 hours straight, I had a 2 hour trip to make to pick up my niece and its 2 hours there and 2 hours back. and i took her home 2 days later and drove the same 2 hours and then into 1 hour on the way back thats when i notice the heating again) I have always watched my gauges good and have never let it go to the red line. I kept an eye on my heating gauge and notice that it would go up 3/4 the gauge and then come on down (also i would blast my heat to help it come down but i noticed it wouldnt go up any farther than 3/4 of the gauge. Both of my fans are working. My heat just started to work one minute and then the next time i cut it on it might not. took the heater core off and took the compressor and blew out the heater core and didnt see nothing and its not leaking, nor leaking in the car. I took my car to the mechanic i know and he gave me a compression test and my car had no problem passing it. he said it looked good, he didn't think it was my head, but i know the coolant has to be leaking somewhere. my water pump is looking good and was recently replaced last year and the water is circulating great. i have had a new timing belt. I have no milky looking oil and no smoke, steam, or water coming out my tail pipe. my car only wants to skip sometimes and sometimes i can crank it and its smooth as can be. I'm running out of ideas!! Please help!!

It's going to be lack of compression, fuel or spark and you have to determine which one it is.

Just an easy check" Take notice of #2 plug (new) condition vs another with no issue and swap them. Plugs can have a story to tell. See if problem stays at #2.

May have trapped air in cooling system? Not sure that would pick on one cylinder. I'm (my own opinion) not comfortable with a fluctuating temp gauge with new radiator, t- stat? Pressure cap for cooling system needs to be good to "recover" coolant to system, allows air out and coolant only to return to the closed system,

I bleeded the air out of the radiator because that was what i thpought of first when it started heating again. I swapped out 3 different plugs and it does the same thing with just plug 2. Just a minute ago the car is skipping I was unscrewing the cap off the radiator to release some pressure and as soon as some of the pressure was let out my car stopped skipping. I have never seen nothing like this.

i think it is probably a blown head gasket right now. im going to test the compression on each cylinder and see what it says but im also about to check on some prices for the head gasket as well. thanks for the help!

HT mentioned compression testing. If #2 is off/way different from another that works fine needs looking into.

Chance of compressed gasses getting into cooling system (gasket issue with intake maybe but more common head gasket) and be so slow it hasn't gone wild.

Easy - from stone cold like overnight, feel (hands out of harms way) zero pressure in upper hose. It shouldn't pressure up too quickly or repressurise much again if some is there when warm NOT HOT and use all caution with warm system with pressure. If t-stat usually up high in/on engine is getting bubbles or air will be slow to react and erratic. Just guesses as it's not like being there.

When fan(s) come on do you feel warm air blowing from them KEEPING HANDS OUT OF THE WAY PLEASE?

Just to add on what Tom said.....A cyl with a leaking head gasket, the plug will look real clean compared to the other ones due to the coolant/water cleaning it......Get a flashlight and try to get a look at the piston, if it's clean & polished then that would confirm a leaky head gasket or crack.....

I had the same problem and it was the head gasket. easy way to find out is take the radiator cap off with the engen running and if you see bubbles then your #2 cylinder is pushing the compression right into the coolant system. It happened to me and only got worse.
